The Las Piñas city government conducted a mandatory training for the newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials on Nov. 11 and 12.
According to Mayor Imelda Aguilar, the training conducted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in collaboration with the Local Youth Development Office was held at the Mayor Nene Aguilar Multipurpose Hall of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) Building in BF Resort Village, Barangay Talon Dos.
She said the training session was a key initiative to equip the SK officials with essential knowledge and skills necessary for effective governance and leadership in their respective communities.
The mayor added that a comprehensive range of topics were included in the program, focusing on the role of youth in local governance, community development, and legislative processes.
Aguilar said the training also served as a platform for the officials to discuss common challenges and share best practices.
Vice Mayor Aguilar personally awarded the certificates of training completion to the participants, marking their readiness to take on their responsibilities as youth leaders in Las Piñas City.
She then underscored the city government’s support and confidence in the capabilities of the young leaders.
Through the mandatory training, the city government will continue to demonstrate its commitment to nurturing and empowering its youth leaders, recognizing their critical role in community development and governance.
The vice mayor said the successful completion of the SK Mandatory Training marks another step forward in strengthening the capabilities of the youth leaders in Las Piñas City, setting a promising path for proactive and responsive governance in the years to come.
