Police arrested a Chinese national for threatening his Vietnamese girlfriend and for possession of guns and illegal drugs in Malate, Manila, on Wednesday night, Oct. 25.
The Manila Police District (MPD) District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) identified the suspect as Liu Qi, 30, staying at a hotel in Malate.
According to the police, the suspect's girlfriend claimed that he threatened and pointed a gun at her inside a hotel in Malate.
After threatening the woman, the suspect boarded his car, prompting her to chase him.
The scene caught the attention of the police officers who were conducting a Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) along Mother Ignacia Street in Malate.
Police immediately approached the victim who informed them about the threat.
The police told the victim to board the vehicle, and they chased the suspect.
Upon reaching Roxas Boulevard service road, the police officers managed to stop the car and asked the suspect to get out.
During his arrest, police confiscated from him three small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, an airsoft pistol, a shotgun loaded with six ammunition, and P201,200 cash.
The suspect is now detained at DSOU and will face charges for violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code, R.A. 9165, Section 11 (possession of dangerous Drugs), and R.A. 9262 (violence against women and children).
