The Batang Pier management is currently in ‘active talks’ with the camp of Robert Bolick who recently got a release from his Japan B. League team Fukushima Firebonds.

The former NorthPort main gunner decided to return to the country reportedly due to the delicate pregnancy of his wife Cassandra.

That also opened the possibility of Bolick’s possible comeback to the PBA through the Batang Pier who still holds his rights in the league.

“As of this moment, we are currently actively in talks with Bolick’s camp and his agent to explore the possibility of his return on our team and sa PBA,” bared NorthPort head coach Bonnie Tan.

Tan was mum on how likely Bolick is to suit up for NorthPort in the Commissioner’s Cup but revealed that a return to the PBA is the priority for the high-scoring guard.

“Anything is possible nag uusap naman ang both camps so let’s wait and see na lang whatever result and outcome ng talks kasi may options din siya sa ibang country pero sa PBA I heard na talagang priority nya,” added Tan.

NorthPort admitted that Bolick’s release came as a shock but the team immediately grabbed its chance of trying to bring back its former star.

After all, Tan revealed he remained in contact with Bolick even when he started training and playing for the Firebonds in the B2 league.

“When he was in Japan pa naman nandun na yung communication namin yung interes nga nya na babalik nga sya due to personal reasons so hindi na bago for our team. Nag uusap naman kami since September 9 and nung birthday din nya nag usap din kami so dun nag start,” shared the amiable mentor.

“Somehow, yes we were in shock kasi nga we are anticipating na one year to two years yung contract nya dun so yes we were surprised,” said Tan.
