Student hurt in paint thinner explosion


SAN NICOLAS, Pangasinan – A 17-year-old student was injured in a paint thinner explosion in Upper Monument, Barangay Malico, this town, on Saturday night, October 21.

Police said victim Christian, 17, with two companions, a 15-year-old and 18-year-old boy, poured a six-liter can of paint thinner on a pile of garbage to start a bonfire in front of their house.

However, the can exploded and injured Christian.

Rescuers took the victim to the Region 2 Trauma Medical Center in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya for treatment of burns.
