"Mekus mekus" quickly gained popularity on social media in the Philippines, with users incorporating it into memes and captions without necessarily understanding its meaning.

Mr. Nobodydudy, a well-known Indian content creator, took to his Facebook page on Monday, October 9, to share a video where he explained the meaning behind his playful expression "mekus mekus."

He shared that the expression "mekus mekus" is a playful way of pronouncing "mix mix." To make the sound “mekus mekus”, one should read “mix mix” in a slow Indian accent.

“Mekus mekus, mix mix ha. Kami na Indian we cannot pronounce it straight. Baka ‘yung iba kaya nila ‘yan, ako hindi (Mekus mekus, is mix mix, ok? We Indians cannot pronounce it correctly. Maybe others can, but I can't),” Mr. Nobodydudy said.

Not only did Mr. Nobodydudy entertain his followers with humor, but he also introduced his trademark phrases like "grabe na 'yan," "sarap na 'yan," "insan," “tornado na ‘yan” and the widely popular "mekus mekus."
