Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III led the oath-taking, donning and pinning of ranks ceremony for the 953 newly promoted uniformed personnel at the QCPD Grandstand, Camp Karingal, Sikatuna Village in Quezon City on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The QCPD said that the newly promoted cops – from police corporals to police majors - successfully passed the screening and deliberation of the National Headquarters Promotion Board, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Police Commissioned Officer Promotion Committee, and NCRPO Promotion Boards for CY 2022 2nd Level Regular Promotion Program.
“As newly promoted, I hope you will do your best to lead your subordinates in an atmosphere full of commitment to duty, proper discipline, and a compelling pursuit of excellence in the performance of our mandate,” the police director said as he congratulated his men.
“Sana ay lagi nating isipin kung ano ang tama at sipagan pa natin lalo ang ating pagseserbisyo publiko (I hope we will always think about what is right and work hard, especially in our service to the public),” he added.
The activity is part of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Simultaneous Oath-taking, Donning, and Pinning of Ranks of 2nd Level Uniformed Personnel under the Regular Promotion Program.
According to PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, the promotion of the cops is anchored with huge opportunity and motivation to further impart their ideals, wisdom, and vision as they rank up in the career ladder of the PNP and in doing their duties.
Present during the activity in the QCPD were Deputy District Director for Administration (DDDA) Col. Fernando Ortega, Deputy District Director for Operations (DDDO) Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., Chief District Directorial Staff (CDDS) Col. Josefina Ligan, chief offices and units, uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, and the relatives of the promoted cops.
