Anyone with a past, who among you can claim he hasn’t any, can easily relate to my current favorite Korean-American film, Past Lives. I say it’s one of the must-watch movies of the year.

Told in a slow-burn manner, gradually building up to a crescendo, the 1-hour-46-minute romantic drama tells of two deeply connected childhood friends who were separated when they were 12 but reunited for one fateful week in New York “where they confront destiny, love, and the choices that make a life.”

"Past Lives" captured the hearts of audiences and critics worldwide, starting from the time it was shown at the Sundance and Venice film festivals.

With a captivating script and stunning visuals, the heart-rending modern romance film has been hailed as one of the year's best films. "Past Lives" has received glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike, with many calling it one of the best romantic dramas in recent memory.

Rotten Tomatoes has given the film an approval rating of 98 percent based on over 200 reviews and an audience score of 94 percent.

"Past Lives" is produced by A24 and exclusively distributed in the Philippines by TBA Studios. This marks the third acquisition and distribution partnership between TBA Studios and A24 following the successful Philippine release of the multi-awarded film "Everything Everywhere All At Once" and "The Whale."

"We are incredibly excited to bring Past Lives to the Philippines," said TBA Studios President and COO Daphne O. Chiu. "This film is a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece, and we are confident it will leave a lasting impression on everyone who sees it."

The film is being released in over 100 theaters nationwide starting on Aug. 30.
