BACOLOD CITY – A total of 1920.52 grams of illegal drugs worth P13,059,536 were seized here from April 18 to June 18.
The illegal drugs were confiscated during the 100 anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the police under Police Col. Noel Aliño, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO). who assumed the post three months ago.
The two-month operations also resulted in the apprehension of 114 individuals allegedly involved in drug
trading.
Part of the operations was the confiscation of 800 grams of suspected shabu worth P5,440,000 from a young man in Barangay Pahanocoy here on Sunday, June 18.
Despite the recent huge volume of illegal drugs here, Aliño said the drug situation here is not alarming.
Aliño said they will hit the ground running, as he doesn’t want repeat drug offenders in and out of the jail.
He aid they will check the linkages of the arrested drug suspects to determine their sources and also possible protector.
Aliño said the BCPO is now targeting big fish and not just small-time drug pushers or users.
