To commemorate Labor Day, the Marikina City government, through the Office of Congresswoman Marjorie Ann “Maan” Teodoro, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will open two job fairs on Monday, May 1.

The first job fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marikina City Hall Quadrangle.
The Marikina Public Information Office (PIO) noted 14 companies that will take part in the fair.
These include Transway Hotels Group Corporation, Automobile Association of the Philippines Inc, RCBC Pacific Place Business Center, Sitel Philippines Corporation, Savemore Market (Santolan Pasig Branch), C.Y.A. Industries Inc. (G.E. Appliances), Advance Food Concepts Manufacturing Inc., Golden Arches Development Corporation (Mcdonalds Philippines), S & R Membership Shopping (Sto. Nino, Marikina), Conqueror International Inc (Rusty Lopez), and Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation.
Some of the government or government-led agencies that will accept applications are the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Civil Service Commission, and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (PLMar).
The second job fair will be conducted at SM City Marikina from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Around 30 companies – 25 local and five overseas – will be present at the SM malls fair.
Some notable companies in the industry will offer job openings to hopeful applicants, namely DragonPay Corporation, Mirof Resources Inc. (Shopee), SM Supermalls, Golden Arches Development (Mcdonalds), Staff Search Asia Service Cooperative (Jollibee, Red Ribbon), SM Appliance, Frutas, BDO Unibank Inc., and Smart Communications Inc.
Agencies such as Social Security System (SSS) branches in Malanday and Marikina, together with PAG-IBIG, and DOLE itself will also join the fair.
Filipinos aged 18 years old and above who are high school or college-level graduates are welcome to apply in the fair.
The local government recommends applicants to bring atleast 10 copies of their resume, curriculum vitae (CV) or biodata, and their own ballpens. They are also advised to wear proper casual or semi-casual attire.
Other local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila and all over the country are also providing numerous employment opportunities for Filipinos on Labor Day.
