Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano welcomed the newly installed city police chief, Col. Yanha Bustamante Yusuf, during the turnover ceremony on Thursday, April 6.
Yusuf was assigned as the new officer-in-charge of the Pasay City Police, replacing Col. Froilan Uy who was relieved from his post following the escape of 10 detainees from the Malibay detention facility on Monday, April 3.
During the turnover rites, Rubiano thanked Uy for his dedication to his job, especially during the manhunt operations for the recapture the jail escapees.
She said Uy had shown his best as the leader of Pasay City police in recapturing the 10 fugitives in 36 hours.
She noted that Uy managed to supervise his men men even without sleep and it was raining hard during the manhunt operation.
The mayor said the city government will give its full support to the Pasay police force under Yusuf.
Uy thanked Rubiano for fully supporting him during his stint as chief of the local police.
He also said the help of Rubiano was a big factor in recapturing the fugitives in just 36 hours.
