Online seller electrocuted in Batangas


NASUGBU, Batangas – A 32-year-old online seller died after she was electrocuted while buying a cigarette in a store on Saturday night, Feb. 18, in Sitio Centro, Barangay Calayo, this town.

Police identified the victim as Zharinne Kim de la Cruz of Malate, Manila.

Investigation said De la Cruz touched the front steel matting cover of the store and was electrocuted.

She slumped to the ground and lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital where she died.

Meanwhile, the burned bodies of a man and a woman suspected to be “salvage” or summary execution victims were found on a street in Sitio Angara, Barangay Natipuan, here on Saturday night.

The still unidentified victims were discovered by a security guard who passed by the area while on his way to work.

Police said the victims might have been set on fire to hide their identities.
