Fire investigators said it was "normal" for the blaze to rekindle considering the magnitude of the incident that occurred last Thursday, Feb. 9.

A BFP personnel interviewed by the Manila Bulletin explained that there are instances where portions beneath the debris of a gutted structure are not reached by the water, thus. opening the possibility for a fire to reignite after reaching a certain temperature.

The fire officer requested anonymity as he said he is not authorized to give information on the Araneta Center bus terminal fire incident.

The fire at the Araneta Center bus terminal started at 4:46 p.m. last Thursday and reached Task Force Bravo alarm before it was put out.

The BFP said that one person was hurt in the incident while damage to property was estimated at P245 million.

The BFP said that the fire started at the sanitation barracks at a commercial building's mezzanine. The cause of the fire is now being investigated.
