The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) warned the public against illegal activities within the reservation of the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
The warning was issued after IPPF’s security personnel arrested two persons last Jan. 22 in the act of using suspected illegal drugs.
“The arrested individuals were apprised of their Constitutional Rights before they were turned-over to the responding personnel from Puerto Princesa City police for custody and final disposition while the suspected illegal drugs after properly documented shall be submitted to the Crime Laboratory for forensic examination,” BuCor said.
“The Acting Director General, General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr., through the Superintendent of IPPF, C/CInsp. Gary A. Garcia, strongly disfavor any illegal suspicious activities within its AOR (area of responsibility),” it said.
It warned that charges will be filed against anyone caught with illegal drugs or doing illegal activities within IPPF.
