43 wanted persons nabbed in Batangas


CAMP. GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City – Police apprehended 43 wanted persons and seized almost ₱612,000 worth of illegal drugs in a week-long anti-crime operation in Batangas.

Col. Pedro D. Soliba, Batangas police director, said 102 drug suspects were arrested in 90 operations from Jan. 11 to 17. Seized from them were 85.74 grams of suspected shabu and 167.1 grams of marijuana with an estimated value of ₱611,658.

Of the 43 fugitives arrested, one was national most wanted, 11 regional, seven provincial, one city, and 23 were other wanted persons.

Eighty persons were arrested for illegal gambling in 39 operations and bet money amounting to ₱17, 664 was confiscated from them.

Two loose firearms were confiscated and two persons were arrested for unauthorized possession of firearms.

Soliba said all in all, police arrested 227 suspects involved in different cases. He assured they will continue protecting and serving the community amid the internal cleansing program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
