Pacquiao hopes to overtake Bongbong, Leni after edging out Isko in latest survey

After overtaking rival Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso in the latest presidential survey, Senator Manny Pacquiao is hopeful he will surpass the two other candidates and make a come-from-behind victory.

Pacquiao, who rose from being a fourth placer to third placer in the latest Pulse Asia survey result, also believed he will have a landslide win in the upcoming elections, just like what happened to President Duterte in 2016.

"Naniniwala ako na ang suporta nila na kay Manny Pacquiao dahil si Manny Pacquiao ang representante ng mahihirap kasi dyan ako nanggaling (I believe their support is for Manny Pacquiao because Manny Pacquiao is the representative of the poor, because I came from the poor)," the lawmaker said at the sidelines of his campaign sortie in Bukidnon on Monday.

Pacquiao, who recently expressed doubt on the credibility of the presidential surveys, made the pronouncement after getting more voter preference by one percent from March to April.

Domagoso, meanwhile, lost four percent, landing him in fourth spot.

Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. ranked first and was followed by Vice President Leni Robredo.

Pacquiao, who has been saying he has the support of the masses, also expressed confidence that he will get at least 20 million votes to make a historic win as someone who comes from the poor.

He also said that the "silent majority," which represents the 48 percent of the country's electorate, will play a pivotal role in determining the results of the upcoming polls.
