Chinese national, bodyguard arrested for carnapping in Paranaque City


A Chinese national and his Filipino bodyguard were arrested in Paranaque City for carannping, violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) and BP6 (Illegal Possession of Bladed Weapon, Pointed or Blunt Weapons) on Saturday (March 5).

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Fei Yuan, 21 and his bodyguard/driver Randy Obiar,38.

Macaraeg said the suspects were arrested at about 6:50 p.m. along Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) Barangay Tambo, Paranaque city.

He said that prior to the arrest of the suspects, victim Shua Hu, also Chinese national reported to PITX security office that his car a white Torota Altis was stolen while parked at PITX 3rd floor parking on Friday (Feb. 4) at about 3:32 p.m.

The SPD chief said parking cashier, Ronalyn Hernanez, the car that was reported stolen on Friday entered the PITX parking area on the next day (Saturday) that prompted her to seek assistance from Security OIC France Cadano.

Macaraeg said Cadano immediately held the suspects and called for police assistance.

Recovered from the suspects were one .9mm pistol with four magazines and 53 live ammunition, one Swiss knife about 8 inches and a black sling bag containing P1,252,000 cash,

The suspects were detained at the Paranaque City custodial facility.
