Vice President Sara Duterte received the highest approval rating among the top five government officials in the country with a rating of 68 percent of the Filipino adult population, according to the results of the 2022 End of the Year survey by Publicus Asia which was released on Friday, Dec. 16.

In the survey conducted from Nov. 25 to 30, 1,500 adult respondents were asked to rate the performance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Vice President Duterte, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, Speaker Martin Romualdez, and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

The survey question was: “Using the rating scale from 1 to 5, where 1 is strongly disapprove, 3 is neither approve nor disapprove, and 5 is strongly approve, how would you rate the overall performance of the following over the past six months (July 2022 to December 2022)?”

Duterte got a 68 percent approval rating, followed by President Marcos with 64 percent, Zubiri with 49 percent, Romualdez with 44 percent, and Gesmundo with 38 percent.

According to Publicus Asia, the approval ratings for the country's top officials were "generally stable," except for Gesmundo, whose approval rating "weakened" because more respondents were "neutral" in their assessment of his performance.

The Publicus Asia poll showed that Vice President Duterte and President Marcos received their highest approval ratings in Mindanao with 80 percent and 73 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, President Marcos got his lowest approval rating in Southern Luzon with 55 percent, while Duterte had the lowest approval rating in Metro Manila with 58 percent.
