Commemorative masses will also be offered on Sunday, Nov.27, at the Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Project 4, Quezon City.

A solemn procession was held on Friday, Nov. 25, after the 6 p.m. novena mass. This year’s feast coincides with the 46th parish fiesta.

Novena masses were offered from Nov. 18 to 26.

The feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal on Nov. 27 coincides with the observance of the First Sunday of Advent in preparation for Christmas.

The Blessed Virgin Mary revealed to Saint Catherine Laboure the image of the medal that she wanted to be made. The Miraculous Medal, which ranks in importance with the holy rosary and the brown scapular among devout Roman Catholics, features the world surrounded by an oval frame, over which were engraved: “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.”

Minted in 1832, St. Catherine said the Holy Mother had promised that “all those who wear the medal with faith and confidence will receive abundant grace. It must be worn close to the heart to bring healing and protection to its wearer,” she was told.
