The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reaffirmed its commitment to service excellence by conducting a two-day awareness seminar on its Quality Management System (QMS) to improve operational efficiency and accountability.

The initiative held last month aimed to strengthen employee knowledge of globally recognized quality standards and ensure their effective application across DOLE’s programs and services.

A total of 60 personnel participated in the training, which covered key principles, regulatory compliance, and the role of quality management in enhancing government service delivery.

DOLE-QMS Committee Chairperson Undersecretary Felipe N. Egargo Jr. emphasized the department’s progress in institutionalizing QMS, noting that its Central Office, 16 regional offices, and eight attached agencies adhere to international quality benchmarks.

“Let us remain focused on fostering a responsive and efficient organization, ensuring that DOLE continues to meet and exceed expectations in delivering programs and services for the Filipino workforce,” he said in a statement Monday, March 10.

The seminar featured discussions led by Philippine Trade Training Center’s Cynthia R. Ramirez, who highlighted the role of quality management in customer satisfaction, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.

Financial and Management Service Chief Odette Leh V. Caragos provided an overview of DOLE’s QMS framework, reinforcing its role in streamlining operations and optimizing service delivery.

DOLE-QMS Committee Vice-Chairperson Undersecretary Warren M. Miclat underscored the importance of continuous improvement, describing quality as a commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustained progress.

Organized by DOLE’s Human Resource Development Service, the seminar aligns with Executive Order No. 605, which mandates government agencies to institutionalize quality management programs to strengthen public service delivery.
