With the expected huge crowd this year for the Higantes Festival 2022, the municipal government of Angono has started to implement measures to ensure the safety of tourists, visitors, and residents who will troop to the Art Capital of the Country to witness the town’s most colorful and lively festival.
Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon ordered local authorities to prepare for the celebration of the Higantes Festival 2022, including the grand parade of the town’s "giants," locally known as the "higantes" on November 20.
Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon, who presided over the meeting at the town hall on November 10, called on the local government heads of offices, the police, rescue personnel, and barangay peace keepers to ensure that the celebration will be merry but safe and adherent to the health protocols set by the national government.
The festival is the town’s thanksgiving in honor of its patron saint, Saint Clement, whose feast day will be on November 22 and 23.
A series of activities is scheduled this month to celebrate the town’s biggest and grandest festival that gives honor to the town’s giants or residents who have made significant achievements in their respective fields of expertise.
The schedule of the activities related to the festival is posted on the official social media pages of the municipal government.
On November 11 at 3 p.m., the "Itik" (Duck) Cooking Contest will happen at the Plaza Rizal fronting the municipal hall.
