Two weather systems may still bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over some parts of Luzon in the next 24 hours, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday afternoon, Nov. 7.

Cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region due to the shear line and easterlies.

A shear line is an area where cold and warm air meets, while easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

PAGASA warned those in areas affected by these weather systems to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

The public is also advised to be vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusts of wind, and sometimes hail.
