Cagayan damage to agriculture from ‘Paeng’ pegged at P39 M


The province of Cagayan has sustained P39,247,238 in damage to agriculture from severe tropical storm “Paeng.”

More than 1,000 farmers were affected.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said damage to corn and palay was P14,155,727 and P12,564,470, respectively.

Fisheries had P2,631,461 in damage and other crops was P9,632,461. Livestock worth P263,120 were lost.

The PDRRMO is still assessing total damage to property.
