Village dad in Negros Oriental shot dead by NPA rebels

BACOLOD CITY – A councilor of Barangay Tabon in Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental was gunned down by the New People’s Army (NPA) in Sitio Bugho, Barangay Tabon on Monday, Oct. 17.

The victim was identified as Nonie Cadorna of Sitio Binakayan, Barangay Tabon.

Police said that the victim and his daughter were on their way home from Sitio Bay-ang, Barangay Tabon when two unidentified armed men shot him several times.

The victim sustained multiple bullet wounds.

The gunmen fled heading towards Barangay Kalupaan, Guihulngan City.

The NPA said they killed Cadorna for being an intelligence asset of the Army 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB) in Barangay Tabon.
