New officers of Valenzuela City's tripartite body take their oath

The newly-elected officers of Valenzuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council's (VCTIPC) took their oath of office at the Valenzuela City Hall on Friday, Oct. 14.

"The oathtaking ceremony of VCTIP's newly-elected officers symbolized the new chapter of the organization’s continuous advocacy in maintaining peace among the labor, employer, and government sector to attain industrial peace and productivity efficiency," the city government said.

Representatives from the City Workers’ Affairs Office (WAO) were also present at the ceremony.

Officers of the WAO and VCTIPC discussed the plans in the labor sector and strategies for building relationships with the different labor entities in the city.

The city government said the labor departments WAO and VCTIPC have been actively moderating and directing cases of employees to DOLE.

Among the said cases were underpayment of salary, illegal dismissal, and no overtime or holiday pay.

VCTIPC, together with WAO, documented a total of 475 cases where 371 or 78 percent of them were resolved.

The resolved cases recorded a worth of P16,556,933.28 monetary benefits provided to the affected employees in the first half of 2022.

The VCTIPC held their election of officers and appointment of committee members for the years 2022 to 2024 at the Allied Evacuation and Emergency Response Team Center (ALERT) Hall in the city last Aug. 26.

The local government said the National TIPC is the main informatory of the Department of Labor and Employment- Bureau of Labor Relations (DOLE-BLR) and serves as the enforcer for organized labor, employer, and government in implementing labor and employment policies.

The National TIPC has city, municipal, provincial, industry, and regional bases that are responsible for processing significant issuances affecting labor, employment, and other related concerns.
