TAYABAS CITY, Quezon -- A former police corporal was shot dead by an unidentified gunman while drinking in Barangay San Isidro, Zone 1, on Thursday morning, Oct. 13.
The victim was identified as Kim Palanca Labado, 36, a resident of Barangay Mateuna in this city who was previously assigned at the Tayabas City police station.
According to the report, the victim was drinking with his friends when the assailant came and shot him randomly around 2:00 in the morning.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds and died instantly.
The suspect was said to be wearing short pants and a black jacket.
It was learned that the victim was one of the 11 Tayabas City Philippine National Police officers who are facing charges in connection with the death of the son of a local politician in Quezon.
Labado is one who was acquitted by the court based on the decision that he had no direct participation in the crime that happened on March 14, 2019.
However, the investigation by the Tayabas City police continues to determine the motive and identity of the culprit.
