PH condoles with families of day care shooting victims in Thailand


The Philippine Embassy in Thailand has expressed its sympathies with the Thai people following the shooting incident at a day care center in Nongbua Lamphu province that killed at least 34 people.

In a statement, the embassy said the Philippine government is “shocked and saddened by the heartbreaking event.”

“We are one with the Thai people in their grief as they face the painful aftermath of this tragedy,” it added.

Meanwhile, the embassy said it is already working with the Thai authorities and the Filipino community there to know if there were Filipino casualties in the attack.

The embassy also said it is ready to extend necessary assistance to any affected Filipinos and their families.

“We also appeal to the public to inform the Embassy right away if they have any direct relevant information on affected Filipinos by calling the Philippine Embassy 24/7 hotline at +66-89-926-5954,” it added.
