PBBM swears in NTF-ELCAC exec, new Negros Oriental governor

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday swore in Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Salamat as the executive director of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

The President administered Salamat's oath of office at the Malacañan Palace after appointing him in July as the executive director of the anti-communist task force's National Secretariat.

Marcos Jr. also led the oath taking of new Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo after the province's Special Provincial Board of Canvassers (SPBOC) proclaimed him on Monday, Oct. 3, as the new head of the province.

It came after his petition to declare a certain Grego Degamo, his supposed rival during the elections, a nuisance candidate was granted by the Commission on Elections. Votes garnered by the latter went to him.

In a Twitter post, the President said he was "glad" to swear in the two government officials.

Marcos also led the oathtaking of the new officers of Malacañang Cameramen Association (MCA) and Presidential Photojournalists Association (PPA).

"Nagpapasalamat tayo sa kanilang dedikasyon at umaasang buong husay at katapatan nilang gagampanan ang kanilang tungkulin para sa bayan (I thank them for their dedication, and I am expecting that they will fulfill their mandate and serve the country with excellence and integrity)," he also said.
