Farm to table

With the country’s agriculture industry beset with modern-day challenges, Chef JR reconnects with the students and educators of CLSU (Central Luzon State University) to find out how the future generation of farmers, bioengineers and inventors plan to improve our food production and farming practices.

CLSU, which is also a premier institution of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, also introduces us to the advantages of rearing goats as valuable milk sources, planting and harvesting mushrooms plus, turning carabao’s milk into delicious meat and dairy products.

Inside the school premises, Chef JR utilizes these products into an array of easy and yummy dishes you can also cook at home.  A grilled cheese sandwich made with kesong puti, cream cheese and carabeef tocino; A No Bake Cheesecake that uses crushed polvoron as its base; Carabao Barbecue in White Sauce.

Be inspired by the country’s young minds and discover dishes that celebrate our homegrown ingredients, from Farm to Table, this Sunday at 7pm on GTV.
