To provide a more effective and efficient delivery of services, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has partnered with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to conduct the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration for its clients at the DSWD Central Office from Sept. 19 to 23.

During the five-day co-location partnership, 104 clients of DSWD—who were beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program—were accommodated and assisted in registering and processing their application for the national ID.

The DSWD said that the agency and its clients will benefit from the PhilSys registration as the national ID will enable faster eligibility checks and digital payments to provide better and multiple access points for beneficiaries to receive social assistance.

For the co-location partnership that was sought by Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo, the DSWD offered its facilities for the on-site registration to make its services more accessible to its target sectors in the long run.

The activity was also in line with the PSA’s recommendation to the DSWD to identify areas where PSA can co-locate to conduct PhilSys registration for those who have not yet registered for the national ID.

It is also in conjunction with the DSWD-PSA memorandum of agreement signed on September 2021.

The DSWD has vowed to enhance its social protection delivery and improve the overall experience for its beneficiaries by exploring further interventions, such as the co-location partnership with PSA.
