Breakfast never looked this good!
In the last couple of months, Tiktok has been serving us food trends to try including corn ribs, orange coffee, and even the Filipino dessert staple, avocado with milk and ice. Just this September, the surprising new obsession was butter board, making its case as the next charcuterie board.
Now, there's pancake spaghetti. On Sept. 30, Tiktok user Briana Achuleta uploaded a video featuring the dish “squiggle cakes,” as her husband likes to call it. The latest craze is basically pancake batter cooked into strips instead of the usual circular mold, then topped with powdered sugar and maple syrup.
As of writing, the post has garnered 441K likes, 46K saves, and 32K shares. The now viral post even got the attention of American blogger Perez Hilton, prompting him to share a reaction video. “I’m eating right now so I’m exceptionally hungry but the concept of pancake spaghetti seems divine. Pancake made spaghetti style. This is brilliant and I need to try that. Oh my god, it looks yummy,” he said.
Netizens have likened the dish to funnel cakes, the American funfair favorite made with spiraled fried batter and served with your choice of toppings.
