Twenty-six persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who have been transferred to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City for pre-release reintegration programs are set to be freed.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said on Monday, Sept. 26, the 26 PDLs were among those 90 inmates sent to PMA under its agreement with the academy to provide housing and livelihood for those who are about to be released.

It said the same agreement is also being ironed out with the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in Cavite.

The pre-release reintegration programs were held last Sept. 18 to 23.

“The team successfully conducted Initial Interview, Orientation, Personality Development, Livelihood Skills Enhancement, Counseling, and Exit Interview in preparation for their release in the mainstream of the society,” BuCor’s public information office (PIO) chief Corrections Chief Supt Julie May C. Taguiam said.

“This is through the excellent leadership of BuCor Director General Gerald Q. Bantag who ensures to build an efficient and effective implementation of reintegration programs to our released clientele,” Taguiam said.
