1-Rider Party-list Rep. Bonifacio Bosita sounds very interested with career trajectory of his old "nemesis" from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), retired Col. Edison Bong Nebrija.
Bosita was among the interpellators of the MMDA's proposed budget for 2023 during the marathon House plenary debates Wednesday, Sept. 21.
Sponsoring and defending the agency’s budget at that time was House Committee on Appropriations Senior Vice Chairperson Marikina City 2nd district Rep. Stella Quimbo.
For his last question during his interpellation, Bosita said, "Matagal ko na pong napapansin na masipag at laging nandyan sa public places si Colonel Nebrija (I've long noticed that Colonel Nebrija has been very hardworking and always visible at public places)."
Apparently, the rookie congressman knows a lot about erstwhile EDSA traffic czar Nebrija's background.
"Hindi ko po alam kung yung kanyang position ngayon ay commensurate sa kanyang qualifications being retired military officer with masteral degrees. Yun po bang position niya ngayon ay commensurate sa kanyang ? (I don't know if his position now is commensurate with his qualifications being retired military officer with masteral degrees. Is his position now commensurate to his qualification?)" Bosita asked the sponsor.

To this, Quimbo simply answered, "Yes."
Nebrija currently holds the title of task force special operations and anti-colorum unit head at the MMDA.
"May balak po ba kayo na siya ay bigyan ng mas maganda at mas mataas na position? Commensurate doon sa kanyang qualification? (Do you plan to give him a better and higher position? One that is commensurate to his qualification?)" Bosita asked in a follow-up.
"Kaka-promote pa lang po ni Colonel Nebrija. Palagay ko ay hindi pa (Colonel Nebrija had just been promoted. I think another promotion won't happen yet)," Quimbo said.
THIS TOO:
During plenary debates, officials of the agencies physically appear on the floor to help solon-sponsors answer questions posed to them.
Bosita, founder of the Riders’ Safety Advocates of the Philippines (RSAP), figured in a debate with Nebrija on social media last year over whether or not it was all right for motorcycle back-riders to wear slippers instead of shoes.
Bosita and Nebrija both have huge social media followings.
