4,921 distressed students receive DSWD educational aid in Negros Occidental


BACOLOD CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) released P12,956,000 in educational assistance to 4,921 distressed students in Negros Occidental during the fourth payout on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The DSWD -Western Visayas said on Sunday, Sept. 11, that 1,322 elementary pupils, 1,054 high school students, 654 senior high school students, and 1,891 college students received cash aid in the province.

A total of P24,765,000 in educational assistance was released by the DSWD to 8,851 students-in-crisis in the region.

A drop box was placed at the Information Desk of the initial validation area at the SM City Bacolod on Saturday to accommodate clients who weren’t able to register online.

The DSWD still has two more Saturdays to distribute educational assistance to indigent students or until Sept. 24.
