VP Sara joins Iloilo business sector on city's Charter Day


​Vice President ​Sara Duterte hopes Iloilo City's business sector will remain united as the city, which is celebrating its 85th Charter Day, continues to get back on its feet amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In her speech, Duterte, who joined the taxpayers during the event, thanked them, "for staying strong and continu working together amidst the pandemic."

Duterte said they, along with the local government, ensured that their constituents "have the best of their interests put forward in terms of safety, overall access to health, access to vaccines, and access to support and opportunities for recovery from the setbacks brought about by the pandemic."

"We hope this continues and grows stronger through the years as the city strategically positions itself to be one of the gateways for greater development of agri-eco tourism, industrial hubs, and Smart City centers in Western Visayas," she added.

Duterte also expressed support for the city's strong partnerships with investors. She also hoped these ties would create more opportunities that would contribute to the city’s holistic development.

The recognition of the city's top taxpayers is part of Iloilo City's 85th Charter Day celebration.
