The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) led Friday, August 19, the simultaneous groundbreaking of an infrastructure project at the University of the Philippines Los Baños in Laguna worth P485 million, which comprised the construction of four school facilities.
In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 4A Director Jovel G. Mendoza said the project launched at the UPLB involves the construction of a five-storey food processing research and development center, a two-storey agricultural and economic development studies center, and a two-storey microbial bank for the BIOTECH Philippine National Collection of Microorganisms.
The University Health Services Operating Room Complex’s rehabilitation plan, which promises to offer cutting-edge medical care comparable to that found in private hospitals, was also unveiled as part of the groundbreaking festivities.
The construction of the new university buildings are under the implementation of DPWH Regional Office 4A. (Jun Marcos Tadios)
