S. Luzon, VisMin may receive scattered rain showers, thunderstorms on weekend — PAGASA

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over most of the country this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its weekly weather outlook released on Friday, Aug. 12.

PAGASA said that Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms from Saturday to Sunday, Aug. 13 to 14.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with chances of afternoon or evening rain showers and thunderstorms.

By Monday until Tuesday, Aug. 15 to 16, PAGASA said that Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will have partly to cloudy skies with chances of rain showers in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA said a low pressure area may cross Southern Luzon by Wednesday to Thursday, Aug. 17 to 18.

“Central and Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao, will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms as the low pressure area approaches and crosses Southern Luzon,” it said.

Meanwhile, Northern Luzon will continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy condition with chances of afternoon or evening rain showers or thunderstorms.
