THESE past several months, Sylvia Sanchez has been occupied with tasks other than acting. Her followers have noted they have been missing her on teleseryes, where she made indelible marks on programs like The Greatest Love and Hanggang Kailan.
Turns out the veteran actress has been priming for a bigger role, as a movie producer. She has set up her own company, Nathan Films,” which has, in fact, put in the can two films thus far.
These are “X Factor” and “Langit Lupa Impiyerno,” both starring Ria Atayde. Two more films are in the pipeline.
In X Factor, the young actress is joined by Carlo Aquino and Jake Ejercito.
Langit Lupa Impiyerno also features Kokoy de Santos and Kyle Echarri.

Sylvia took time off from TV acting to focus on producing. She was spotted in May at Cannes International Film Festival in France with FDCP Chair Liza Dino-Seguerra.
The award-winning actress said that since she’s venturing into movie production, she wanted to get a first-hand feel of what films can be marketable abroad.
She was also in Cannes to market one of Arjo’s films,
‘Hey, Joe,'” also starring Joel Torre, Mon Confiado, and Nova Villa, directed by Avel Sunpongco.
Sylvia intends to return to TV acting in 2023.
Meanwhile, she’s helping her son, Arjo Atayde, set up his office in Congress. Arjo has been elected representative of District 1 of Quezon City.

Starting July 30, 2022, the family of the late Susan Roces led by Sen. Grace Poe Llamanzares is giving out a special award named after the Philippine movie queen in cooperation with the FAMAS Awards. Instead of calling it the Susan Roces Celebrity Award, which I find too lightweight and fluffy, I suggest a more fitting name. Why not call it the Susan Roces Legacy Award? Such an award can remind the public of Susan,s legacy as an artist who used her celebrity to become a role model for Filipinos. The special award,s first honoree is National Artist Nora Aunor.
By the way, the FAMAS is unstoppable in celebrating the superstar. It is giving out another special award for Nora aside from the one given by Susan's family.
