Ridge of high pressure area to bring warm, partly cloudy weather

(MANILA BULLETIN)

The ridge of high pressure area will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies across the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, July 20.

PAGASA defines the ridge as a relatively narrow extension of an anti-cyclone system or high pressure area.

It is expected that most parts of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy condition but with chances of isolated rain showers mostly in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.

The southwest monsoon or “habagat” has slightly weakened and is not expected to affect any part of the country.
