Twenty-five more persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) have been released from Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte.
Of those released, 22 had been granted parole, two had served their jail sentence and one had been acquitted of his criminal charge, LRP said in a statement.
LRP said that the freed PDLs last July 1 were given their certificates of discharge, certificates of trainings they participated while in detention, and Covid-19 vaccination cards.
They were also reminded “to maintain good conduct, utilize the knowledge and skills acquired from the reformation programs and continue learning in their reintegration into the society,” it said.
Since Jan. 1, 2022, 180 PDLs have been released from LRP, it added.
