LPA to bring scattered rains over Palawan, Bicol, Visayas

(MANILA BULLETIN)

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Palawan, Bicol Region, and Visayas due to a low pressure area (LPA) east of Puerto Princesa City.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin on Tuesday, June 21, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was at 140 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan at around 3 p.m.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are likely to affect Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Palawan, and Visayas.

PAGASA advised residents to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also warned the public against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.

Moreover, the entire archipelago may experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
