Scattered rain showers prevail over Bicol, E. Visayas; fair weather with chances of rains across rest of PH

The ridge of high pressure area is expected to be the dominant weather system in the country during the 124th Independence Day commemoration on Sunday, June 12, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Saturday, June 11.

Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, while the rest of the country will have fair weather apart from isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA advised the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms, which are often accompanied by sudden heavy rains, lightning, thunder, gusty winds, and sometimes hail.

Moreover, the entire country will have light winds and slight coastal waters.

PAGASA also does not expect the formation of a tropical cyclone inside the country’s area of responsibility during the forecast period

However, the State weather bureau said it will issue advisories if significant changes in the weather scenario occur.
