A total of 56 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City was released last May.

The CIW said those released had been acquitted of their criminal charges or had served their jail terms.

It expressed hope that “all those freed from the CIW, headed by CTSSupt. Hylene C. Pancho, have learned new abilities and were reformed through the various Reformation Programs provided during their imprisonment.”

In 2021, the CIW released a total of 414 PDLs. They were part of the 4,610 PDLs freed last year from the seven prison facilities of the Bureau of Corrections.
