Monsoon rains persist in Palawan, Mindoro

(MANILA BULLETIN)

The southwest monsoon or “habagat” continues to affect western Luzon, bringing rains to Palawan, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, May 23.

PAGASA, in its 24-hour weather forecast, warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy monsoon rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies but with possible occurrence of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also advised the public to stay vigilant because of the possibility of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorm activities.

The western section of Luzon and extreme northern Luzon will have moderate winds, while coastal waters will be moderate.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
