Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio is inviting the faithful to join the closing ceremony for the Diocesan Synod on Synodality consultation on Sunday, May 22, at the National Shrine of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus in Pasay City.
In a video message, Bishop Florencio expressed his gratitude to all those who participated in making the Diocesan Synod on Synodality consultation a success.
The Church leader will preside over the closing mass at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Closing rites will start at 2 p.m.
“We are going to have a closing program which will be followed by a mass to conclude the whole diocesan synodal activities,” said Bishop Florencio over Radio Veritas.
Pope Francis called for the synodal consultation as part of the preparations for the Synod of Bishops in 2023. The consultation is for the preparatory document to be submitted to the Vatican that will be discussed by the bishops next year.
The MOP is tasked to oversee the spiritual needs of the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management & Penology (BJMP), and Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
