The restaurant is known for its classic Old Chinatown cuisine
For years, Binondo in Manila has been the hotspot for classic and truly scrumptious Chinese cuisine. But for diners in Pasig, going to a different city just to have a taste of Old Chinatown flavors is not needed thanks to Comida China de Manila. Sadly, the beloved food spot is closing its store by the end of May.
A quick scroll on Comida China de Manila’s Facebook page and one can see the restaurant’s company meeting done early this month. Reports confirm that its store in Pasig will be officially ending its operations by May 31. In a story by Rappler, the restaurant shares that its location “along E. Rodriguez Jr Avenue, C5 has been sold.”
Prior to becoming Comida China de Manila, the restaurant is formerly known as Panciteria San Jacinto. And since 1996, it has been home to anyone looking for a classic Cantonese fare, much like what is being served in Binondo. It offers “classic favorites, new dishes, dimsum, and surprise concoctions put together by our chief cook who began his career in the very first PSJ restaurant along T. Pinpin Street,” the restaurant wrote on its Facebook page.
While there are plans about opening a new store, customers, for now, can still savor the restaurant’s food offerings until May 31 by visiting its place at 106 E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave (C5), Ugong, Pasig City, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., or visiting its Facebook page and website to order food for delivery.
