The police are investigating Korean actress Kim Sae-ron, 21, star of the dramas “The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim” and “Secret Healer,” for drunk driving.
According to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, on May 18, Kim Sae-ron was driving in Cheongdam, Gangnam at about 8 a.m. when she crashed and hit a structure and a tree several times.
The police said they received six to seven reports of a vehicle driving unsteadily and they dispatched a team to the scene.
Korean media reported that she tried to flee but was caught by the police. Kim Sae-ron was booked on charges of violating Korea’s Road Traffic Act for drunk driving.
She was asked to take a breathalyzer test, which indicated that she was drunk driving. However, she wanted to take a blood alcohol test and was taken to a nearby hospital.
The police said after blood collection, they plan to request Korea’s National Forensic Service to check Kim Sae-ron’s blood alcohol level and the results are expected to come out after seven days.
A photo of the damage caused by Kim Sae-ron was uploaded in an online community.
Gold Medalist, Kim Sae-ron’s agency, said it is checking the incident.
Kim Sae-ron started as a child actress, appearing in the films “A Brand New Life” and “The Man from Nowhere.”
