Robin Padilla leads senatorial race in COMELEC tally


Actor Robin Padilla is leading all 64 senatorial candidates vying for the 12 available seats at the Senate.

The latest tally release by the Commission on Elections on Wednesday, May 11, showed that the Padilla, who is running under the banner of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), has 612,684 based on the votes canvaassed by the Commission on Elections.

Based on the tally sheet of the COMELEC, the votes come from Malabon City, Baguio City, Abra, Ifugao, Benguet, Apayao, Kalinga and Mountain Province.

Padilla is followed by independent candidate and media personality Raffy Tulfo at second with 521,381.

Seeking a Senate comeback, former Sen. Loren Legarda of the Nationalista People’s Coalition (NPC) placed third in the ranking with 492,504 votes.

The other candidates in the top 12 positions are former Public Works Sec. Mark Villar of the Nationalista Party (NP) with 427,025 votes; reelectionist Sen. Win Gatchalian of the NPC, 424,797; former Sen. Chiz Escudero of the NPC; 378,428; independent candidate former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, 369,589; independent candidate and reelectionist Sen. Joel Villanueva, 358,280; former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), 336,498; former Sen. JV Ejercito of the NPC, 332,498; independent candidate Sen. Migz Zubiri, 319,358; and former Vice President Jojo Binay of the United Nationalist Aliance (UNA), 284,124.

Among the candidates who have yet to land the 12 rankings are People’s Reform Party (PRP) candidates Gibo Teodoro and Harry Roque, placing 13th and 14th with 336,498 and 332,936 votes, respectively.
