"The fight is not yet over."

1Sambayan, the lead convenor behind the candidacy of presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo, made the assurance Tuesday, May 10, as partial and unofficial election results show its bet lagging behind former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

In a statement, the opposition coalition called for Robredo's supporters' calmness and "sobriety" because "the fight is still going on."

It said that the counting of votes is not yet done and "at this point, we are still receiving and validating election returns and various data related to the elections."

"Keep calm and wait for the final validated results," the group said.

Currently, Robredo is lagging behind Marcos Jr. by about 16 million vote gap.

1Sambayan said it is aware that people still have lots of questions. But, it advised the public not to be carried by emotions and pray for the results.

"We extoll our members and the Filipino people to remain vigilant and go through the process, no matter how long or tedious it may be. Now is not the time to foment confusion but to pool our resources and talents and continue with our quest to find the truth and ascertain the true will and voice of the people," it added.
