Serendra fire damage estimated at P100,000


The fire that hit the Serendra complex in Bonifacio Global City in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig on May 5 has caused P100,000 worth of damage to property, according to the Taguig City Fire Station.

According to the Serendra management, the fire started at about 11:42 a.m. on the second floor of Shops at Serendra, an array of retail establishments within the Serendra residential complex that includes restaurants, cafes, and shops.

The Taguig City Fire Station said the fire started from a storage room on the second floor of the building.

The first alarm was raised at 12:06 p.m. The fire was put under control at 12:32 p.m. before it was put out at 12:34 p.m.

A total of 15 fire trucks and four ambulances responded to the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Serendra management said the “Serendra Building Administration immediately responded and assisted customers and mall employees for evacuation.”

“No one was reported injured during the incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Normal mall operations resumed after the area was cleared. Rest assured that the safety of our shoppers is our utmost concern,” Serendra said.
