Robredos’ ‘tao to tao’ campaign shifts to high gear

As the May 9 elections draw near, the three daughters of Vice President Leni Robredo are not easing up their house-to-house efforts as they continue to relentlessly campaign for her around the country.

Robredo’s daughters—Aika, Tricia, and Jillian—are virtually stepping on the gas pedal to convert more undecided voters to choose their mother among the presidential candidates.

Aika, the eldest of the three, visited several barangays and a public market in Makati City, Dr. Tricia barnstormed the Camiguin Island on her third day in Northern Mindanao on Saturday, April 30.

The youngest sibling, Jillian, held a face-to-face campaign in various municipalities in Batangas.

The Robredo sisters are going all-out with one week left in the campaign. They are joined by other family members.

The Vice President’s niece, Dr. Gaile Robredo-Vitas, went around Antique and Aklan while her children joined the PAWSsion Project event with the Robredos’ pet pug “Rocco” at Bonifacio Global City.

In her message, Aika told Makati voters that her mother will be the president of the Filipino people, regardless of political color and belief.

“Hindi importante sa kanya kung galing ka man ng Ilocos o Bicol, kung mabibigyan nang pagkakataon, si Mama Leni po ay magiging Presidente ng lahat. Ang panalo nya ay panalo ng lahat ng Pilipino (It’s not important for her if you come from Ilocos or Bicol, if she will be given the chance, Mama Leni will be the president of everyone. Her win is the victory of all Filipinos),” she said.

In Camiguin, Tricia received a surprise from fisherfolk of the island as they welcomed her with a fluvial parade while she was about to disembark from the ferry.

Aside from wooing voters to choose Robredo, Dr. Gaile reminded them to prepare their list of candidates, know their precinct number, and invite others to vote.

“Bago tayo magtungo sa ating mga presinto sa Mayo 9, ihanda na ang listahan at alamin ang presinto kung saan boboto. Tiyakin ding boboto ang mga kapamilya at mga kaibigan (Before we go to our precincts in May 9, prepare your list and know the precinct where you’ll vote. Make sure your family members and friends would vote),” she said.

Apart from the Robredos, actors Adrian Lindayag and Vaughn Piczon also went to Noveleta, Cavite for the house-to-house campaign. Lindayag shared with residents the reason why he decided to support Robredo’s presidential bid.

Former professional basketball player JC Intal and celebrity wife Bianca Gonzales also kicked off an early house-to-house campaign with fellow volunteers in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Saturday.
